DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Alcohol Education Specialist Supervisor, you will assist in implementing and evaluating all aspects of the Education and Grants Management Division programs and initiatives.  You will collaborate with bureau professionals to create training programs and curricula that will be disseminated to a vast population, in addition to assisting in developing, updating, and reviewing the "Report to the Pennsylvania General Assembly on High Risk and Underage Drinking" as prescribed by ACT 85 of 2006 and other official bureau reports.  The intent of the division includes oversight of planning, implementation, and evaluation of statewide efforts to reduce underage and dangerous drinking and promote responsible consumption by those of-age.

Excellent interpersonal skills are vital to present or assist in presenting training programs, as well as training staff to facilitate and present training programs.  You will supervise all aspects of the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the bureau's Alcohol Education Conference and alcohol awareness programs and events, in addition to working with staff to develop new materials and to review and revise current materials.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Travel required as necessary.  Travel expenses will be paid subject to Commonwealth Travel Policy. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with the exception of reporting to the Northwest Office Building on board meeting dates once every two to three weeks, and as operational needs dictate.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as an Alcohol Education Specialist; or Two years of professional teaching, classroom instruction, or formal training experience, and a bachelor's degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes two years of professional teaching, classroom instruction, or formal training experience.

Legal Requirements: This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance. Y u must pass a background investigation.  An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code.  Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
