DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Computer Operator 2, you will be responsible for supporting the OITS computer batch operations section by assisting in the creation and scheduling of batch events.  Specific duties include creating incident tickets using the Incident Management System, scheduling jobs and workflows, and responding to user requests.  You will document and track Incident Management System requests for updates of jobs and workflows, and create tasks based on the information provided in the ticket.  You will also report all system anomalies and take corrective action of system malfunctions by documenting batch program failures and assigning these failures to the appropriate support group.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 12:00 AM to 8:00 AM, Sunday - Thursday, with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, however in-office attendance may be required as operational needs dictate.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience as a Computer Operator 1; or One year of experience in operating computer and an associate degree with major course work in data processing;or Two years of experience in operating computers; and graduation from high school; or equivalent certification or formal training. Formal training in electronic data processing may be substituted for experience at the rate of 25 hours for one month, to a maximum of 12 months.

Legal Requirements: You must pass a background investigation.  An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code.  Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
