Description

We are seeking a Controller to join our non-profit client in the Harrisburg area. The Controller will handle all of the accounting functions, ensuring the integrity of financial information and managing general ledger activities and oversee financial reporting, and compliance with GAAP and IRS regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.

• Prepare and review monthly financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Handle all grant-related accounting and reporting.

• Develop and produce regular financial reports and dashboards, ensuring transparency and accuracy.

• Assist in preparing the annual budget and monitoring actual expenses against budgeted amounts.

• Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.

• Coordinate and lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors.

• Manage the preparation of Form 990 and other required tax filings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on accounting experience, with nonprofit organization experience preferred.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
