DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will supervise DIS field staff who are assigned to the Northwest and Northcentral regions of Pennsylvania. Your duties will include assigning, monitoring, and evaluating field work, as well as conducting training, discipline, and performance management.

Collaborating with Central Office staff, you will provide technical assistance on field issues related to data collection and reporting. You will work to improve STD and HIV testing, treatment, and reporting by serving as a liaison with private and contracted providers. You will also coordinate field follow-up for individuals with infectious diseases (including COVID-19, STD, HIV, and TB) to ensure timely response. Additional duties will include conducting field interviews and providing referrals for care and treatment.

This position may be given an assignment to support the public health emergency response mission of the Department of Health. Emergency assignments could at times be received with little or no advance notice, and may continue for any period of time - ranging from a few hours to several weeks, depending on the nature of the circumstance. The emergency assignments may at times be performed under adverse conditions and may require travel to a site other than your assigned headquarters for a period of time.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your headquarters location will be a State Health Center within the Northwest/Northcentral area. The location will be chosen based on proximity to your home and availability of space. This position requires extensive travel to the 25 counties located in the Northwest and Northcentral Department of Health Districts. Travel will also be required to various parts of the state to attend mandatory field and staff meetings. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to your assigned headquarters office. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Disease Intervention Specialist (commonwealth title);or Two years of professional experience performing outreach, investigation, or case management work in a social services, human services, public health, or health services program; and a bachelor's degree in health sciences, behavioral sciences, or a related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements: You must possess an active motor vehicle license.
