DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will contribute to the organization and oversight of department-wide events and initiatives related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB). This encompasses five key areas: DEIB education, community involvement, equitable funding and accessibility, the narratives of DCNR lands, and the development of career pathways and workforce initiatives.
You will play a vital role in advancing and advocating for DEIB initiatives while executing a comprehensive three-year plan for DEIB integration. Your efforts will be essential in fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and experiences. Through your support, the department aims to enhance its commitment to DEIB principles, ensuring that all programming and events reflect these values and contribute to a more equitable workplace and community engagement.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time internship that will run from 5/1/2025 through 8/29/2025 Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS Internship Requirements: Current full-time enrollment in a bachelor's degree or advanced degree program in one of the following majors: Sociology Human Resources Communications Freshman year completed Good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher) Pennsylvania residency or enrollment at a Pennsylvania college or university
