DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The employee in this position is responsible for the development, planning, and administration of the Commonwealth's Climate Action Planning activities under the IRA-funded Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG), as well as the implementation and coordination of other DEP energy programs primarily supported by the Energy Programs Office (EPO) and the Office of Environmental Justice (OEJ) utilizing the U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE) and EPA funding programs including but not limited to the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Infrastructure and Investment Jobs Act (IIJA). The employee conducts this work consistent with DEP, USDOE and EPA strategic goals and funding requirements including those related to Justice 40 and workforce development.

The employee in this position serves as a central contact and works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders relative to the IRA-funded CPRG and ancillary programs developed as a result of or in parallel to CPRG. The employee interfaces with affected communities, the regulated industry, local governments and planning organizations, other state agencies, and program staff to carry out this work, and ensures that environmental justice and equity considerations are incorporated into climate and energy outreach, planning, and programs developed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday- Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. This position may require periodic travel.

Salary:Most selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $64,959 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of professional experience in energy resources, energy utilization and conservation, energy technologies, or the economic impacts of energy issues, and a bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or Energy Policy; or Three years of professional experience in energy resources, energy utilization and conservation, energy technologies, or the economic impacts of energy issues and a bachelor's degree; or A master's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Physical Sciences, or Energy Policy; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.
