DESCRIPTION OF WORK In this position, you will oversee the processing of fingerprints and manage the workflow of the Fingerprint Unit according to PSP guidelines and the Federal Bureau of Investigation standards. Your leadership will ensure the unit operates efficiently, meeting the goals and objectives of the PSP central repository by accurately disseminating criminal history information to agencies within the criminal justice system, thereby enhancing public and law enforcement safety.

Additionally, you must have an understanding of Pennsylvania's crime, penal, vehicle, pharmacy, liquor, and cosmetic drug codes as they relate to live scan devices. Instructing local and state agencies on the use of live scan fingerprinting equipment and resolving technical issues will ensure successful print transmission to the MBIS. You will advise applicants, agencies, and vendors on the interpretation and application of legislative acts related to fingerprint identification for employment.

You will also carry out a full range of supervisory duties, including onboarding new employees, evaluating performance through daily work records and performance evaluations, training staff, addressing complaints, approving leave requests, and implementing new work processes.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 40 hours per week Work hours will be determined through rotating shifts that include holidays and weekends. Telework: This position does not offer telework. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please note: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $54,226.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Fingerprint Technician (commonwealth title); or Two years of experience in the identification and non-identification of individuals through fingerprint and palm print examination, comparison, and verification.

Other Requirements: You must have the ability to obtain and maintain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.
