Reference #: 4572999 THE POSITION Are you a detailed-oriented person who would enjoy working on complex financial projects in a fast-paced environment?  The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking a motivated Fiscal Management Specialist 1 to assist in the planning and monitoring of contract and grant related fiscal services for the Office of Long-Term Living (OLTL) in the support of institutional services such as General Government Operations (GGO), County Administrative Services (CAS), and the fiscal aspects of the Community Health Choices and Managed Care Organization initiative.  If you are ready for an opportunity to grow professionally and work with a great team, this may be the job for you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Management Specialist 1, you will participate in the formulation and administration of contracts and grant budgets that exceed $100 million for the Commonwealth's Medicaid and OLTL programs.  This includes assisting with budget development, reviewing program office invoices, analyzing monthly contract and grant expenditures and departmental budgeting and accounting reports, and notifying the Chief Financial Officer and Division Director of any budgetary concerns and grant spending deadlines.  You will also examine requests for contract or grant budget revisions and provide correspondence explaining why budget revisions are being altered or denied.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year as a Financial Programs Trainee; or One year of experience in paraprofessional fiscal administration work, and a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
