The primary responsibility of this role involves conducting thorough research on courthouse records to identify the type of ownership, easements, and any other covenants associated with the property. This includes interpreting deed descriptions accurately to understand the property's legal status. Additionally, the position requires visiting the property in question to assess its condition and interviewing the owner to gather essential information needed for an accurate appraisal. This information includes details such as fair market value, depreciation, existing liens, judgments, gas and mineral rights, and any damages that may affect the property. The role involves determining the most appropriate methods for valuing the properties under consideration, utilizing data from the market, cost, and income sources to arrive at accurate assessments. Furthermore, tasks include physically measuring, photographing, and documenting all improvements on the property, including any modifications made by the owner since the property's original purchase.

The position also entails obtaining additional information to support completed appraisal reports, housing evaluations, and retention valuations, ensuring all documentation is thorough and accurate. Moreover, the role may require attending and providing testimony at Board of View Hearings or Court Trials related to the appraisal and damage estimates for the property. The position involves collaborating with claim settlement agents to provide necessary information on property details and damages, facilitating the resolution of any issues related to final appraisals or additional payments. Additionally, the role includes supporting the Chief Appraiser in preparing damage estimates, appraisal contracts, and analyzing appraisal-related issues, as well as entering data into various computer programs. The position involves offering technical guidance to other team members in preparing appraisals and assisting in reviewing appraisals to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Lastly, the role requires ensuring that all appraisals are completed within a reasonable timeframe and that priority projects are finished within the specified deadlines, maintaining efficiency and accuracy throughout the process.

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Special Requirements:

All positions require possession of an active Pennsylvania Certified General Real Estate Appraiser certification. All positions require possession of an active motor vehicle license. Other Requirements:
