Job Profile Summary

We are seeking a HHS Consultant to analyze and support business operating decisions related to Medicaid, Managed Care, and other health and human services programs. This position will be full-time and hybrid .

What You’ll Do

  • Data analyses to support Department of Human Services decision-making processes

  • Analyses to support business-operating decisions related to Medicaid, Managed Care, and other health and human services programs

  • Processes for the analyses of claim/encounter data for various initiatives, including reporting on high cost and high utilization services and specific populations such as individuals with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI)

  • Processes for the analyses of data by geography, services, provider type, place of services and other factors to discover trends and suggest action plans

  • Processes that support the evaluation of fiscal impact analysis for existing and potential cost containment initiatives

  • Extraction and analysis of large data sets and perform analyses to determine whether targeted goals were achieved or identify performance measures with target goals

  • Meetings to advise Commonwealth staff on work results

  • Reports, presentations and data dashboards that will be shared with internal and external stakeholders

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Information Systems or similar degree.

  • Proficiency in financial, demographic, encounter and claims data for both managed care and fee-for-service Medicare and Medicaid, as well as commercial and health care related insurance.

  • At least 3 years of experience doing a broad base of senior level medical economic analyses

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitors
