Reference #: 3181704 Summary/ Objective: The Network Administrator has responsibility for acquiring, configuring, and maintaining network equipment such as routers, switches, access points, patch panels, servers, and data collection equipment.  Proficiency with low voltage cable topology and design, surveillance systems, card key security systems, and branch, & office equipment such as laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, mobile phones and POS systems.  Managing access controls and user profiles for active directory, O365 and various cloud collaboration tools such as MS Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Team Sites. Maintaining vendor relationships for office and branch WAN network support, and phone system configuration and support. Essential Functions: Network equipment configuration, setup and upgrades for routers, switches, access point and appliances. PC configuration for users, setup OS, active directory, email client (O365), and other required software. Ensure a backup plan is in place to backup company servers and applications. Setup and configuration of various cloud collaboration tools such as MS teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint team Sites. Participate in disaster recovery plan assessment and update activity.  Assist in creating fault tolerant environments for applications based on business requirements for redundancy and high availability. Research cloud solutions viability or application migration supporting scalability and disaster recovery. Troubleshooting and resolution of PC, server, and network issues. Understanding base level Eclipse capabilities to provide monitoring & performance solutions. Setting up system and equipment for new branches as well as accounts, permissions, and passwords. Support and administer third-party applications. Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses. Resolve problems reported by end users. Provide training and support to lower-level technicians. Participates in security audit reviews and penetration testing. Define and maintain network policies and procedures. Competencies: Knowledge of networking services and common networking protocols. Computer proficiency and understanding of various types of network hardware. Ability to problem solve and think critically. Attention to detail. Good Communication skills. Good Project management skills. Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks. Positive attitude and patience with users. Occasionally will need to assist with configuration and maintenance on evening or weekends so disruption to operations is minimal. Check and respond to Eclipse messages, emails, and voicemails through the day. Proven experience in a network administrator role, performance monitoring and operations. Experience with firewalls, VPN remote implementation, troubleshooting, & problem resolution. Proficiency with backup and recovery software and methodologies. Supervisory Responsibility: This position is not a supervisory role and does not have any direct reports. Work Environment: This job operates primarily in an office setting with the balance of the time split between visiting branches/warehouses and attending meetings.  This position requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, internet, smart phones, and photocopiers. Physical Demands: the ability to stand, walk for moderately long distances, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipula e (lift, carry, move) weight up to 50lbs. Ability to use a keyboard and type proficiently. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Travel: Some overnight travel is required, and the employee can reasonably expect on average 15-20% overnight travel to meet the demands of the position.  Should travel be required a valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required for this position. Clearances and Certifications: U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required. Certifications such as Juniper, Cisco, CWNA or BCNE training or minimum of 5 years network management experience preferred. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science or proven experience in a network administrator role preferred. Displayed aptitude and willingness to learn.
