POSITION: ACCOUNTANT

LOCATION: HARTFORD, CT (HYBRID - 3 Days in Office, 2 Days Remote)

In this diverse Accountant role, you will handle a broad range of accounting duties including preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will help support customer requests related to financial activity and interact heavily across departments. Your responsibilities in this role

• Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

• Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

• Participate in various department-wide initiatives

• Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process

• Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

• Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable

• Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

• Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

• Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

Minimum requirements for this position include a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (or related field) in addition to 3+ years of related accounting experience. Public Accounting experience is highly valued in this setting, but not required. Must have strong systems skills including hands on experience working in a fully integrated ERP system and strong MS Excel skills.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Accounting

• 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

• Bank Account Reconciliation experience

• Month end closings experience

• Financial statement preparation experience preferred

• Journal entries experience

• General ledger experience

• Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

• Knowledgeable of ERP systems

• Competent with spreadsheets and databases
