Accounts Payable Specialist (this is a permanent/direct hire position!)

Location: Downtown Hartford (FULLY ONSITE, NO EXCEPTIONS, PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF LOCAL)

Salary: up to $65,000 (Depending on Experience)

Hours: 35 Hours per Week!!

About our client: Our client is a reputable professional services organization located in downtown Hartford. Their dynamic team is seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team of 8. This is a fantastic opportunity to become an integral part of the finance department while enjoying a balanced work schedule and excellent benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter and Code Invoices: Accurately input and categorize invoices into our proprietary accounting software.

  • Reconcile Accounts: Ensure accurate reconciliation of accounts payable records.

  • Manage Check Runs: Process check runs in a timely manner, adhering to established procedures.

  • Utilize Excel: Leverage Excel for various accounting tasks and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience in an Accounts Payable position, recently, 3+ years.**

  • Skills: Proficiency in Excel and ability to quickly learn proprietary software.

  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Requirements

  • Must have proficiency in Account Reconciliation.

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable position, recently, 3+ years.

  • Familiarity with Check Runs is required.

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
