Data Scientist, Marketing Analytics will be responsible for using state-of-the art analytics to develop customer and market insights to optimize our marketing and distribution efforts.

This position involves delivering analytical solutions that will influence approximately $100M in annual marketing spend including direct mail, television, and internet advertising. This position requires strong analytical and statistical experience as well as outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly summarize and present insights.

Responsibilities

  • Generate monthly marketing campaigns (Direct mail, Email, others) including maintenance and execution of production scripts

  • Develop and maintain data assets and monitoring reports to support marketing program performance monitoring and program optimization decision making

  • Adhoc analyses to support both the marketing department and the overall Personal Lines business

  • Partner with Marketing Program Managers to inform planning decisions through data analysis, trending, and modeling activities

  • Monitor and report test results. Enable adoption of appropriate tests in all channels and across the customer life cycle.

  • Experience & Skills

    Work experience:

  • 2- 5 years’ experience working in an analytical role including experience in Performance Analytics, Analytics Dashboards, Python and SQL

  • Experience within the Financial Services sector, particularly consumer P&C insurance business

    Required Skills:

  • Analytical and problems-solving skills including the ability to apply quantitative analysis techniques to business and marketing problems.

  • Proficiency in tools/systems including Python, SQL, Thoughtspot, Snowflake and AWS

  • Experience with analytics dashboards such as Tableau and/or Power BI

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to present technical results to non-technical audiences

  • Strong project management skills, capable of managing project timelines and deliverables autonomously

    Nice to have:

  • Experience developing and using predictive statistical models in direct marketing environment

  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and algorithms

  • Experience with design and analysis of experiments (A/B tests)

    Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related fields including Economics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.

Candidate must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$78,320 - $117,480
