Aetna is recruiting for an Executive Director, National Specialty Development who will develop innovative and strategic provider relationships as part of the National VBS Business Development team. You will work collaboratively across the Network organization to ensure speed to market and to support segment leaders with growing our specialty and innovative VBC portfolio.

You will make an impact by:

  • Leading the process for identifying, evaluating, and completing contracting with specialty and innovative provider partners.

  • Developing relationships with leaders of specialty or early-stage provider organizations to design to execute on strategies for growth.

  • Developing and educating leaders on specialty landscapes and what financial models are being used across the industry.

  • Partnering with finance on the development of financial models and VBC contracts to support portfolio growth.

  • Managing team performance through regular, timely feedback as well as the formal performance review process to ensure delivery of exceptional service and engagement, motivation, and team development.

  • Partnering with Network and Segment teams to ensure deployment of VBC strategies are executed timely.

  • Supporting CVS Health in attracting, retaining, and engaging a diverse and inclusive consumer-centric workforce that delivers on our purpose and reflects the communities in which we work, live, and serve.

Required Qualifications:

The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company’s business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes:

  • 15+ years of experience in Payer and Provider Value based care.

  • Experience in Value Based Care financial models.

  • Experience in Risk-based arrangements and Value-Based care in government services.

  • Adept at execution and delivery (planning, delivering, and supporting) skills.

  • Strong strategy and executive communication skills

  • Adept at business intelligence.

  • Adept at collaboration and teamwork.

  • Mastery of problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Mastery of growth mindset (agility and developing yourself and others) skills.

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment.

  • Ability to work a Hybrid Model (in office Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday) if reside near an Aetna Hub or continue existing WAH arrangement.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with value-based contracting across Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and Commercial lines of business

  • Experience with Behavioral Health or MH related VBC programs

  • Experience launching specialty VBC programs (MSK, Cardiology, Oncology, Vendor relationships)

Education:Bachelor's degree/specialized training/relevant professional qualification.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$131,500.00 - $303,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
