About the Position:

We are seeking a lawyer who is a true problem-solver, one who goes beyond tactical work and acts as close liaison to the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure line of business. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong understanding of the business unit, its proprietary information, services and technology, as well as its practices. Our attorneys have instinctively good judgment and impeccable integrity. This position is telecommuting/remote from anywhere in the US.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing legal support for the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure business, enabling profitable growth while mitigating legal risks and assuring adherence to governance policies, ethics, and country specific laws and regulations.

  • Demonstrating general functional knowledge across a wide range of sub disciplines (e.g., antitrust/competition law, compliance and regulatory, cloud transactions, data privacy, contract management, intellectual property, and other issues specific to the computer and technology industry)

  • Advising on legal issues involving government and regulatory compliance.

  • Responding to ad hoc queries to include identification, analysis, and evaluation of risks in order to provide appropriate legal solutions.

  • Working closely with other lawyers throughout Oracle and coordinating legal matters handled by outside lawyers.

Preferred Experience and Skills We Seek:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience providing legal support relating to cloud services.

  • Experience with matters relating to cybersecurity, data centers, energy or real estate.

  • Portrays a sense of enthusiasm, ownership, and personal commitment to individual, team, company and customer success.

  • Ability to influence others through coherent, clear, factual, and precise verbal and written communications, including reports and presentations.

  • Ability to learn new issues and subject areas quickly, manage challenging priorities, maintain good judgment, sense of humor, and focus when working in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to research and conduct legal analysis on complex and challenging problems as well as the changing regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to anticipate problems and obstacles before they arise and plans accordingly, including creating playbooks and guidelines to provide guidance on potential future issues, limitations or risks.

  • Draft and improve agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.

  • Effective leadership and cross-organizational communication and collaboration skills.

  • Admitted to practice in the US.

US: Hiring Range: from $139,300 to $291,900 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

  10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
