Hartford HealthCare Oncology Pharmacy Manager in Hartford, Connecticut

The Oncology Pharmacy Manager oversees the day-to-day management of pharmacy operational and regulatory processes, including functions related to: medication order review, medication storage and preparation, drug distribution, and provision of drug information. Responsibilities include but, are not limited to the following: * Creates and maintains effective, positive relationships with key hospital and health-system partners. Responds appropriately to challenges in patient care, and coaches pharmacy team members to always do the safe, kind, caring and best thing for our patients. * Responsible for ongoing development and support of pharmacy staff, including timely communication and resolution of personnel issues. * Manages recruitment, orientation and training, and annual performance management of pharmacy staff that are direct reports. * Oversees scheduling processes, working with Scheduler, Clinical Manager, Pharmacy Director, and other key personnel as needed. * Performs or designates: completion of audits and pharmacy environment of care rounds to identify practices that deviate from existing policies and procedures, while ensuring regulatory readiness, with adherence to applicable laws and guidelines. * Contributes to the training of staff working in the pharmacy (e.g. pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and interns). Participates in the education and training of pharmacy students and residents on rotation, as applicable. * Proactively work with pharmacy staff to foster a culture of safety. Use appropriate reporting systems to report adverse events and medication errors; act upon and report safety concerns appropriately. Promote and support High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles. * Assist Pharmacy Director in setting priorities and tracking progress on quality, safety and regulatory compliance. *_Education:_ * Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from a US Accredited College of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy with minimum of three or more years of hospital experience _Experience:_ * Three or more years of hospital experience * BCOP certification, 3 or more years’ experience in Oncology Pharmacy preferred _Licensure, Certification, Registration:_ * Licensed a registered Pharmacist in Connecticut or eligible to receive licensure within 45 days.
