Job Purpose: Our Senior Accountant supports the organization by working within our General Ledger accounts to complete necessary reconciliations, including initiating adjustments. The Senior Accountant role is designed to equip individuals for future leadership in accounting while allowing them to partner with and advise the organization\'s key decision-makers on how to improve their business based on financial data. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Honor Commitments: Timely Financial Reporting: Ensure on-time and accurate filing of tax returns, including biweekly Federal Excise and monthly State tax returns for a multi-entity/multi-state organization. Participate in the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met. Prepare and distribute all internal and external financial reports promptly. Accurate Reconciliation: Review and reconcile various accounts with precision and urgency. Identify and address any discrepancies swiftly to maintain financial integrity. Create Positive Experiences: Support Branch Performance: Identify financial explanations behind multiple branches\' performances. Conduct monthly statement reviews and analysis by location to identify trends, patterns, and margins. Advisory Role: Partner with and advise key decision-makers on financial insights to improve business operations. Ensure that financial statements are presented fairly and in accordance with GAAP. Foster Lifelong Learning: Continuous Improvement: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated with accounting standards and practices.
