Hackensack Meridian Health Business Manager - HUMG Medical Group - Physician Practice in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey

The Business Manager, under the direction of the Director of the Physician Services Division and SVP of the Physician Enterprise, is responsible for financial analysis of projects and statistical studies. Projects will include; Business Planning for new Practices, Practice Economics plans for Incremental Providers, Capital Projects Business Plans, Real Estate Business Planning, etc. Job responsibilities include all financial aspects of PSD; goals to achieve growth through physician practice; prepare and report monthly financial statements, WRVU, P&L's, support budget process, audit coordination and internal controls compliance; build and maintain PeopleSoft general ledger; and support outsourced accounting functions.

Responsibilities

A day in the life of a Business Manager at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Compiles and analyzes financial data regarding physician practices, including productivity and monthly P&L's, conducts due diligence, and uses this information to develop integrated revenue/expense analyses, projections, reports, and presentations regarding the impact of a physician practice within the PSD, as well as analyze the operational budgets.

  • Continually oversees office flow with staff and related tasks and immediately addresses any concerns that arise. Insures staff competency and closely monitors staff implementation and follows through procedures.

  • Delegates tasks appropriately to other staff members while maintaining professional and regulatory standards.

  • Assists in business integration strategies; Coordinates with outside independent valuation specialists on fair market value and commercial reasonableness of transactions.

  • Performs budgeting financial forecasting; Analyzes trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses for HMHMG.

  • Make recommendations on annual and operational budgets and submit monthly reports requested by the HMHMG.

  • Reports the monthly financial operations of physician practices(on a stand-alone and consolidated basis) to HHMHMG Management,

  • Completion financial statements and monthly variance reports.

  • Ensures financial information has been recorded accurately; working closely with the PSD Finance Team.

  • Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

  • Lifts a minimum of 5 pounds, pushes and pulls a minimum of 5 pounds and stands a minimum of 30 minutes a day.

  • Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational & Managerial Competencies.

Qualifications

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other related field.

  • Minimum 6-8 years of progressive experience in accounting, or 5 years of public accounting experience with a top CPA firm.

  • Working knowledge of all aspects of PeopleSoft General Ledger System.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.

  • Must be highly computer literate, including advanced use of Excel.

  • Must be willing to roll up sleeves.

  • Must be able to establish effective working relationships with Senior Management and Staff at all levels of the organization.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

  • Experience in a multi-subsidiary preferred.

Licenses and Certifications Preferred:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
