The Social Services - Community Living Services Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the delivery, operations, and personnel in home and community based programs for people with disabilities and aging. This specific position is primarily responsible for the over age 65 Elderly Waiver, Alternative Care and Essential Community Supports Program assessment and reassessment staff, ensuring program compliance/support with all related home and community-based services. This position leads or participates also in related work efforts within and external to the County. Duties & Responsibilities These examples do not include all possible tasks in this work and do not limit the assignment of related tasks in any position of this classification. Regular attendance according to the position's management approved work schedule is required for all positions. 1. Hire and supervise the activities of professional and para-professional staff in assigned program areas. 2. Consult, coach, and mentor staff in the performance of assigned duties. 3. Provide clinical supervision and ensure cases are complying with best practice and legal mandates. 4. Develop, revise, implement, and provide oversight to policies and procedures, laws, rules and regulations and ensure cases are complying with best practice and legal mandates. 5. Develop, implement, and supervise innovative and effective programs. 6. Collaborate with State human services and health agencies, medical and health systems/personnel, other community and County agencies to coordinate service delivery. 7. Evaluate and assess program budget needs, determine and collect data needed, and prioritize requests. 8. Generate program and activity reports, statistics, and program evaluations as needed. 9. Assist in development of contracted services/rates and monitor. 10. Inform, present, and promote agency programs and services with various community groups, agencies, or community organizations. 11. Attend, conduct, and participate in unit, department, management, and team meetings. 12. Address problems and complaints and take action to resolve. 13. Assist Deputy Director to establish and actuate program philosophy, goals, and objectives. 14. Participate in emergency preparedness trainings , exercises, and responses. 15. Demonstrates a commitment to support cultural diversity County wide, actively supports the County's diversity initiatives, and works to address the needs of diverse and underrepresented communities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Duties, 1-15 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities and Work Environment Knowledge of the principles, practices, and methods of home/community based clinical work and integration of appropriate formal/informal resources. Knowledge of laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to home/community based programs. Knowledge of governmental organization, functions, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of indicators of mental/chemical health, neglect/abuse, and human development. Knowledge of computer software and information s stems. Ability to hire, supervise, train, and evaluate staff, including the ability to build/support a competent/effective work team Ability to work cross-culturally, engaging staff and community partners to support inclusion, diversity, and equity. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to problem solve and respond to crisis situations. Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and to work effectively independently and with others. Ability to promote and support agency staff in the performance of their job functions Ability to understand and integrate outcomes-based accountability. Demonstrates an understanding of and respect for the diversity of customers, co-workers, and supervisors, including individuals with a disability or whose first language may be other than English. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed remotely, in-person at the County office building and intermittently in clients' homes or community settings. Travel is required. Lifting requirement of up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis. Exposure to hazardous materials such as chemicals, blood, and other body fluids may occur. During visits to clients' homes there may be exposures to: hazardous physical conditions such as environmental conditions within unsanitary homes and property, unsafe neighborhoods, challenging and potentially violent and unpredictable clients, and family members, pets, and animals. Some positions may be exposed to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dusts, gases, and poor ventilation. Equipment used may include, but is not limited to, computer, printer, telephone, cell phone, calculator, audio/visual equipment, and copy and fax machines.
