Job Description: This position is responsible for general mechanical engineering, layout, packaging and analysis for RF/microwave components and subsystems. As a member of a multi-discipline team of engineers, you will support legacy products as well as provide input into new products/processes and help to implement operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results. Will communicate within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, procedures and approaches needed for the manufacturing of the Narda-MITEQ products.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs required FEA (Finite Element Analysis), both structural and thermal, in support of new and existing designs.

  • Develop design concepts and evaluate designs executed by others to satisfy product/project requirements.

  • Supports new product development as well as new business opportunities during proposal stage.

  • Provide guidance to manufacturing, engineering and procurement on mechanical, material and finish.

  • Evaluates new and emerging technologies and supports tooling design needs for both production and engineering departments as required.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations to coworkers, management and customers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

  • Requires practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor

  • ANSYS CFD Thermal Analysis

  • ANSYS FEA Structural Analysis

  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD)

  • Understanding of Mil-Spec environmental testing procedures

  • Experience transitioning designs into production, Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA)
