Sensitron has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Software Engineer with software design knowledge & experience, and ideally with knowledge & experience in embedded device firmware development.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven problem solver. Employee will support the entire product lifecycle development, from design & implementation through test and debugging to ensure that product requirements are met, while working closely with other
engineers and customers.


Sensitron designs and develops a wide range of power control and power conversion products for military, industrial, and aerospace applications.

This is a challenging opportunity, requiring a variety of knowledgeable skills for a fulfilling employment experience.

Specific Job Description:

Develop software for power electronic products from customer concepts:

  • Support all phases of development, including architecture requirements definition, firmware and embedded system architecture, proof-of concept implementation, selection of tools, etc.
  • Convert customer requirements into internal design requirements
  • Support development and certification when applicable for DO-178 software projects for Level A and B, planning the documentation and the code tracing compliance and test certification.
  • Support “Safety critical analysis” for Mil-std-882 type requirements and use various tools like MISRA while debugging and validating code
  • Develop structured software for product integration and support in C, C++ with usage of assembly code in time-critical code sections
  • Work with other internal teams supporting product development and release
  • Drive the implementation of embedded software development best practices across teams and projects, setting expectations, defining backlog, and tracking progress.
  • Document and communicate all aspects of product development as well as procedures, etc. for future use
  • Work closely with firmware, software, and hardware teams, both project-specific and cross-functional, ensuring compatibility
  • Debug, test, and verify component and board designs through software
  • Represent Engineering in technical customer discussions / meetings
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers with technical assistance with production issues
Requirements:

Design experience with software for power electronics products:
  • B.S or M.S in Computer science
  • Minimum of 5+ years with software development experience in power electronics field and high reliability markets.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience with C++ with ability to understand assembly code in time-critical sections
  • Experience with MIL standards: RTCA/DO-178
    • Level A and Level B
    • Hands on experience with planning documentation, code tracing for compliance, test expertise for certification?
  • Safety critical analysis expertise
    • Mil-Std-882 or similar
    • Hands on experience with different tools (Such as MISRA) and ability to fix issues?
  • Experience and skills in debugging using lab equipment and other tools such as Oscilloscopes, Power supplies, Multimeters, Function generators, etc.
  • Successfully problem solve and manage conflict
  • Poses Analytical, evaluative and objective critical thinking skills
  • Skilled in low level hardware code development and debugging.
  • Skilled with compilers, debuggers and / in-circuit emulators
  • Ability to work in a team setting environment
  • Strong computer skills. Focus on Office, Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
