Job Title: Behavioral Health Coordinator Department: Behavioral Health Supervisor: Chief Behavioral Health Officer and Director of Operations Salary Range: $43,160.00-$61,535.84 Job Overview: The Behavioral Health Coordinator, under the general direction and supervision of the Clinic Operations Manager and/or the Chief Behavioral Health Officer, will provide oversight to the daily operations of medical team and provide leadership and mentorship to them. The Behavioral Health Coordinator will assist in the efficiency and functionality of the behavioral health department and will assist the management team in setting clear objectives and establishing measurable goals for the behavioral health team. The behavioral health coordinator is expected to exhibit strong team-building and problem-solving skills and encourage collaboration among staff members and the community. Essential Functions (Major Duties or Responsibilities): Clinical Support •Actively participates in daily preparation for schedule review to ensure a smooth productive day. •Participate in development and implementation of the Quality Improvement program. •Maintain knowledge of national initiatives, mandates and quality improvement of system-based processes. •Assist in organization and directing of comprehensive programs to assure continued accreditation and compliance. •Ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations, identify areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues. •Conduct periodic audits, prepare, maintain, implement, and disseminate written practice standards and procedures. Perform research and data gathering, document activities and record information •Maintain databases, mailing lists, and telephone networks. •Proficient at: 1.Entering all patient documentation into the Electronic Medical Record. 2.Scanning all required paperwork into the patient charts. 3.Monitors and troubleshoots issues EMR 4.Ensure relevant updates and changes made during EMR system upgrades are disseminated to behavioral health department •Develop educational materials and programs •Assure appropriate licensing, credentialing and certification documentation is obtained from professional staff and is on file. •Create and validate reports for quality improvement initiatives. • Create graphs, charts and other displays for presentations. •Examine and utilize information and documents to verify adherence to requirements. Leadership •Directs and leads behavioral health team in continuous process improvements. •Creates the behavioral health schedule and ensure that there is adequate coverage to ensure efficient workflow. •Leads behavioral health staff in overseeing cleanliness and organization throughout the behavioral health clinic. •Leads clinical staff in maintaining a smooth patient workflow with the front office staff and clinical teams to promote timely and exceptional patient experience visits. •Collaborates with other clinic staff to improve and provide better patient care. •Maintains the knowledge that is a resource to other clinical staff and uses expertise to improve patient care and advance department goals. •Responsible for the professional and clinical development of the behavioral health team through mentorship and training. •Assists in the efficient transition and adaptation of new behavioral health staff. •Bring resolution and workflow recommendations for continuous process improvements to the Clinic Operations Manager and/or Chief Behavioral Health Officer. Inventory Management •Compile the list of supplies needed, request purchase orders, and order approved behavioral health supplies. •Oversee, update, and maintain behavioral health inventory. •Promptly ensure supplies are received and stored appropriately. •Monitors behavioral health expirations and disposes of materials accordingly. •Request behavioral health supply needs properly and efficiently for ordering while adhering to inventory budget. Compliance •Maintains HIPAA according to compliance and policy. •Abides by all PPE standards for clinical staff. •Practices universal precautions and proper infection control. •Minimizes waste, fraud, and abuse. •Reports any hazardous situations to the Clinic Operations Manager and/or the Chief Behavioral Health Officer •Knowledgeable of spill containment and clean up. •Abides by the allowable and prohibited duties for dental assistants as outlined by the State of Montana. •Ensure that the office Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are up to date and readily available. •Ensure maintenance of emergency kits and first aid supplies for accuracy and compliance. •Inspect, test and log autoclave systems and eye wash systems. Ensure weekly monitoring of autoclave systems via spore testing and other biological testing, as designated. Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience): •Associate or bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or combination of job-related experience equivalent to four years. •Experience in a primary health care setting or equivalent is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s): •Knowledge of program planning, implementation, evaluation, and health care administration; statutes relative to clinic providers and federally qualified health centers; confidentiality; community resources; electronic medical records system; medical office practices and procedures. •Requires the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective work relationships; provide staff education and skill building. •Demonstrate skilled, interpersonal communication; conflict resolution skills; skilled in program planning, implementation and oversight and evaluation; skilled in the use of computer software for programs for clinic practice management. •Ability to become ECW (electronic medical record system) super user. •Ability to be flexible, able to change directions and work quickly. •Demonstrated ability to work with various skill levels. •Maintains confidentiality. •Must be dependable, have strong communication skills, be well organized, can prioritize and be able to work under pressure. •Provides a general knowledge base needed to perform the job duties. •Exhibits professionalism, patience, and good customer service. •Performs job duties with a positive attitude and dedication to working hard. •Provides support and cooperation when working with others to provide the best patient care. •Carries out the organization’s mission, vision, and values. •Problem solver through critical thinking and providing solutions. •Proactive in identifying areas of opportunity and making the appropriate adjustments. •Provide orientation to new dental staff. •Review current policies on a yearly basis and educate dental staff on current policies. •Must maintain good relationships with dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and other health care employees. Physical and Environmental Demands: Work is performed in an office, and behavioral health clinic setting; stands, walks with intermittent sitting; reaches for and uses writing instruments and keyboard; reads reports and other written materials; extensive use of telephone and oral communication with the community and coworkers; stoops; bends; kneels; reaches for; picks up; and pushes or pulls; ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Special Requirements: Performs duties in the delivery of health services. Hazardous risks may include exposure to infected body fluids, sharp instruments, and chemicals, requires adherence to universal safety precautions.
