Touro University Director of Advancement Services in Hawthorne, New York

Overview

NYMC is looking for an accomplished and creative professional to manage the advancement services group and be an instrumental agent for growth and change. The Department of Development and Alumni Relations has a collaborative and collegial culture, and this position will play a critical role in its future success. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Advancement Services will provide the technical expertise, oversight, management, and strategic guidance for the Advancement Services team and the department. S/he will help to create, improve, and implement any new advancement services systems, policies, and procedures that will increase the success of Development and Alumni Relations efforts.

Responsibilities

Comprehensive Management of the Donor Database:

  • Manage the operation, maintenance, data input, data integrity and accuracy for The Raiser's Edge constituent database management system.

  • Supervise the processing and acknowledging of gifts, pledges, pledge payments, matching claims, memorial gifts, in honor gifts, and other contributions to the College.

  • Oversee the timeliness and efficiency of processing, and assure that all corresponding links in the database are updated and maintained as gifts are processed.

  • Coordinate training of all advancement staff on current and new applications of Raiser's Edge.

    Analytics and Reporting:

  • Primary responsibility for creating all reports; including gift reports, pipeline reports, fundraising reports, performance metrics tracking, prospect management reports, annual fund performance, and more.

  • Develop additional reports and lists that are responsive to the needs of the various internal constituents, including boards and administrators.

  • Analyze data to help enhance fundraising tactics and outcomes, including direct mail, telemarketing, social media and marketing efforts for the Annual Fund.

  • Analyze and research dormant endowed funds.

  • Provide guidance to team members with respect to creating a more effective annual fund program.

    Prospect Research and prospect management and stewardship process:

  • Oversee the prospect management, research and donor stewardship processes/initiatives.

  • Work with front line development staff to assign, and track progress with major gift prospects.

    Provides oversight, strategic direction for all policies, procedures regarding:

  • Gift Processing and acceptance policies, gift acknowledgements, statements of account, pledge reminders, etc.

  • Work with Budget/Finance team to streamline reconciliation and fund creation processes

    Management responsibilities:

  • Manage the advancement services team of two.

  • Assists the Chief Develo pment Officer in developing goals and monitoring performance benchmarks and standards.

    Serve as primary liaison with Touro College and University Central Advancement Services staff:

  • Create and maintain process of data sharing of Raiser’s Edge systems with NYMC team and colleagues at Touro “Central”.

  • Interface with internal NYMC and Touro stakeholders as necessary to maintain protocols of RE access and data sharing.

Qualifications

Education requirement: Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s Degree in business or public administration preferred.

Technical/computer skills:

Knowledge of all MS Office applications, development operations and fund raising programs.

Knowledge of The Raiser’s Edge and Crystal Reports preferred.

Excellent communication skills.

Prior experience:

5–7 years’ experience in Advancement Services Group with increasingly responsible positions.

3-5 years Management experience.

Expertise in Raiser’s Edge a must.

Higher Education or Health se rvices organization experience highly preferred.

Experience with Annual Fund highly preferred.

Demonstrated success and leadership qualities.

Minimum Salary

USD $120,000.00/Yr.

Maximum Salary

USD $140,000.00/Yr.
