Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sets up and prepares work area with needed tools and chemicals

  • Disassemble parts in machines

  • Scrubs and scrapes excess meat from floors and machines using scrapers and/or brushes

  • Mixes cleaning solutions or other chemicals in a safe manner

  • Operates ahose station to clean or rinse and foam production and plant areas

  • Responsible for signing Master Sanitation Schedules (MSS) on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

  • Reports missing, worn or damaged equipment to the Line Coordinator /Supervisor

  • Drives continuous improvement in occupational safety

  • Performs required stretches and exercises.

  • Work safely, and use equipment only when trained.

  • Report anything unusual, including accidents, breakage or malfunction of machineries and equipment to your line coordinator / supervisor.

  • Abides with full compliance with chemical and personal protective equipment (PPE), including machinery and equipment lock out/tag out (LOTO) and BRC polices and procedures; HACCP and USDA regulations.

  • May be assigned or required to perform other duties, responsibilities and functions assigned by the production line coordinator and/or supervisor and/or production management.

Physical / Environmental Demands

The essential functions of the job and working conditions requires the individual to, walk, stand, stoop, bend, reach, grasp, grip, pull and push up to 500 lbs., and lift up to 70 lbs.

The job requires the individual to work with chemicals in a light to moderate noise environment, and/or up to a high level of noise environment that requires mandated personal protective equipment. Working environment may include but is not limited to: the donning, wearing, and usage of hairnets, smocks, coats, gloves, boots, glasses, hearing protection and hard hats.

The position may be exposed to extreme climate (e.g. hot, dry, cold, and wet) conditions; 38 degrees and 115 degrees in drying mode; may also potentially be exposed to allergens/mold and pepper.

Educational and Job Experience Requirements

High school diploma desired

Previous sanitation highly desired

Knowledge of basic math

Basic English reading, writing and comprehension skills
