JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Title: Academic Advising Program Manager Reports to: Chief Academic Officer FLSA Status: Exempt Annual Contract: Full-Time 52 Weeks Rate of Pay: Dependent on Qualifications Posting Date: August 06, 2024 Application Deadline: August 20, 2024 Start Date: As soon as possible In-Person - Not Remote General Position Summary: The Academic Advising Program Manager is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and administering academic advising focused programs influenced by theoretical and/or practical best practices in the delivery and execution of effective student mentoring and success in post-secondary education. Programs managed by this position include academic focused advising for prospective, first-year, returning and continuing students. This position works in partnership with the Chief Academic Officer, and in collaboration with the Registrar, student services, faculty advisors, and staff to increase student participation, academic success, and post-graduation opportunities. The Manager is responsible for communicating with students and faculty advisors while maintaining all degree requirements associated with all annual academic year course catalogs activities. Key Responsibilities: Provides leadership and oversight of the development, vision, and implementation of operational activities related to student\'s academic success in collaboration with faculty advisors, student services staff, and administration Plans, implements, and coordinates the following areas: Academic Advising, Early Alert and Intervention strategies that support all students Leads, plans, supervises, coordinates, and evaluates identified academic programs and services to ensure quality, efficiency, and effectiveness in reaching all students Supports the Chief Academic Officer in providing leadership/direction/coordination for developing and implementing academic success plans in collaboration with academic advisors, administration and faculty and staff Develops and implements best practices to ensure quality academic advising services delivered to students from inquiry and recruitment stages through graduation Ensures collection and reporting of accurate data pertaining to student academic services Assists with the preparation and management of budgets for assigned areas of responsibility Participates and leads University committees appropriate for the direction of this position Conducts program review for assigned areas and provides recommendations for quality improvement and other programmatic changes Accomplishes activities related to implementing culturally effective practices focused on student success) Contributes to executing appropriate campus wide support for academic advising related programs or events as needed Performs other related duties as required or assigned by Chief Academic Officer Assists with implementation of academic policies Reportability: Report to Chief Academic Officer ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree required (Master\'s degree preferred) with a minimum of three years of progressive responsibility and experience in higher education Minimum of five years\' experience in higher education, preferably in student services Knowledge of and commitment to the mission and goals of LCOOU Familiarity with academic advising for underrepresented students in higher education Demonstrated commitment to serving students with diverse backgrounds, interests, g Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working with student retention programming in higher education Prior experience working at a Tribal College & University Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Understanding of and commitment to working toward the LCOOU Mission Statement Experience working with grants, grant reporting, and budget management Excellent interpersonal skills with special regard to attention to detail, co munication, conflict management/negotiating, and leadership Experience working with diverse populations, particularly the Native American population within Native American communities Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs: including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability and willingness to learn how to use technology utilized at LCOOU: including, but not limited to, social media platforms; database management platforms; live streaming technology; and other technology used Look online to see full job listing ***** APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: Other: Application Process: Application Deadline: Until Filled Please submit either hard or electronic copy of a cover letter, an updated resume, unofficial transcripts, and a completed LCO Ojibwe University job application (available online at www.lco.edu/hr) to the address directly below.
