BioFire Diagnostics, LLC. Sr Manager, Logistics and Warehouse in Hazelwood, Missouri
Position Summary:
The Sr. Manager Logistics and Warehouse is responsible to establish and execute supply chain business strategy through direction the activities of the logistics departments which facilitates achievement of the company’s goals and objectives. Leads multiple teams’ operations with an approximate 50+ persons in the total Logistics team. Direct, assign and participate in work activities to meet goals of the department. Responsible to the Department Manager for the efficient operation of their assigned area(s). Participate in the direct labor function of the department when necessary. Provide coaching, feedback, guidance, and training to employees, ensuring an engaged and skilled workforce.
Primary Responsibilities:
Establish work teams for overlapping coverage.
Drives execution of actions for the team in order to meet customer order shipment dates, domestic and international completion dates as driven by customer orders.
Direct warehouse and work areas following 5S principles. Support Continuous Improvement méthodologies – Lean, Kaizen, etc.
Ensure team is trained according to established procedures.
Ensure compliance with all cGMP, ISO and FDA regulations for all warehouse activities.
Supply and monitor data that measures department performance.
Develop and manage relevant performance indicators for warehouse operations. Use information to drive performance improvements.
Manage physical inventory of all finished goods and raw materials in the warehouse and cooler through cycle counting and physical counts when necessary.
Consistently uphold all company policies and provide understanding of their implication and effectiveness.
Perform full performance management for their employees.
Fill in and perform Sr. Director Supply Chain duties when Director is absent.
Participate and provide input in interviewing, hiring and termination activities.
Oversees Logistics operation budget to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements. Provide input to the departmental budget.
Ensure corrective action is implemented when the requirements of a process or procedure cannot be met and or maintained.
Write new procedures as needed.
Follows up execution, triggers logistics preventative and corrective action plans to reach logistics objectives.
Drives logistics transformation projects in coordination with site objectives.
Dimension, recruits, trains, evaluates and develops logistics teams as necessary.
Education, Skills, & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of warehouse experience.
8+ years of management experience is required.
Associate’s Degree with 10+ years of warehouse experience to include materials management and inventory accuracy principles also accepted
In lieu of a degree, a High School Diploma with 12+ years of warehouse experience to include materials management and inventory accuracy principles also accepted
Knowledge of OSHA, cGMP, ISO and FDA regulations.
Experience in Material Handling and Inventory management required.
Knowledge of materials management and inventory accuracy principles.
Knowledge of Kaizen and 5S principles.
Shipping and/or receiving experience.
Must be proficient using Microsoft Office Suite.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
