O'Neal Industries, Inc. Engineering Technician in Hebron, Kentucky

Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with CAD systems to create, modify, and release drawings for use by other departments and customers

  • Collaborate closely with all departments to ensure drawings convey correct information

  • Load programming in machines on the floor and troubleshoot where needed

  • Self-check work for completeness, accuracy, meeting standards, fits, nestings, and stack-ups

  • May be responsible for some design elements

  • Work from various sources including drawings, sketches, scanned images, customer drawings, or government specifications

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma

  • Minimum of 5 years CAD/CAM experience

  • Excellent Microsoft Suite computer skills

  • Thorough knowledge of CAD/CAM technology

  • Basic math ability and blueprint reading skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a related technical field

  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment

  • Familiarity with Solid Edge software

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

  • Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

  • Indoor office environment, not exposed to weather conditions

  • Moderate noise levels

  • Frequent use of computer and CAD/CAM software

  • May involve occasional visits to the manufacturing floor
