Job Title: Electrical Facilities Engineer
*Purpose of the Position: *The Electrical Facilities Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, maintaining, repairing, and improving site electrical systems within the facility, including high voltage distribution, switching, substations, power monitoring, lighting, and controls systems. This role is critical to ensuring the facility's electrical systems are dependable, safe, and energy-efficient, supporting both day-to-day operations and long-term facility goals. The Electrical Facilities Engineer ensures electrical reliability, safety, and compliance with regulations, while supporting facility operations and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in electrical engineering and experience in a production environment.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field
- 5 + years of experience in electrical systems design, installation, or maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing facility.
- In-depth knowledge of power distribution systems, control systems, and electrical safety standards.
- Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP) for system modifications and upgrades.
- Experience with facility maintenance management systems (CMMS) for tracking electrical maintenance activities.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety regulations, including OSHA and NFPA standards.
- Excellent critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders.
- Efficient in Microsoft applications; Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint.
Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Desired Skills
Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), SCADA systems, and other automation technologies.
Knowledge of energy management and sustainability practices, particularly in reducing electrical consumption.
