EAC Network, a respected not-for-profit social service agency that supports over 62,888 individuals across Long Island and NYC through 100 diverse programs, is looking for a dedicated Visit Specialist to join our Nassau Supervised Visitation Program.

Why This Role is Perfect for You:

As a Visit Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in facilitating and supervising visitations within our program, ensuring that families have positive and safe interactions. This part-time position offers $16 per hour and up to 18 hours per week, with flexibility for late afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays. You'll be based in our Hempstead, NY office and report directly to the Program Director.

What You’ll Do:

  • Supervise and Facilitate Visits:Ensure the smooth and safe conduct of supervised visitation sessions in our office. Your presence will help maintain a supportive environment for families.

  • Documentation:Accurately document observations of each session and report your findings to your Supervisor. Ensure all visits comply with program policies and procedures.

  • Court Involvement:Provide testimony in court if subpoenaed, supporting the integrity of the visitation process.

  • Childcare Assistance:Provide support with childcare needs when required, ensuring a positive experience for all involved.

  • Maintain Environment:Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of visitation rooms to create a welcoming atmosphere.

  • Meetings and Training:Attend staff meetings, conferences, and training sessions to stay updated and engaged with program developments.

  • Flexibility:Provide advance notice if unable to work a scheduled shift and review previous progress notes before each visit.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education:High School diploma or equivalent required; a degree is preferred.

  • Experience:At least two years of relevant work experience preferred.

  • Skills:Ability to manage potentially volatile situations calmly and effectively, and proficiency in Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, email, and database software.

  • Availability:Flexibility for evening and weekend work, as required.
