[About the role[: Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, the Instrumentation and Controls Technician will utilize strong knowledge of precision measurement science (Metrology), mathematics, physics, and electronics to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, maintain and repair instrumentation/controls, and automation. All duties must be performed in compliance with established company, department, and safety policies and procedures within GMP-regulated and non-GMP facilities. The incumbent will execute daily work assignments and ensure timely completion of all scheduled and unscheduled events for instrumentation systems controls, and production equipment. Perform routine preventative maintenance and calibrations of instrumentation.

Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, design, installation, and configuration of production equipment, instrumentation, and control systems.

Identify and correct measurement errors and equipment alarms/faults.

Replace instrumentation and automation controls as needed.

Perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs.

Strong skill set with AB programmable logic controllers (SLC, PLC, and Control Logix families), (Siemens S7 a Plus) as well as Human Interface (HMIs) such as AB PanelView, FactoryTalk View and Wonderware.

Ability to configure, test, troubleshoot and commission AB and Siemens VFDs.

Configure, troubleshoot, and commission PLC and HMI based control systems with the ability to make minor programming changes.

Direct and oversee the maintenance of programs for PLCs and PCs coordinating with Process Engineers, Project Engineers, Information Technology staff, and Production and Maintenance personnel.

Maintain configuration management to ensure compliance of the system, Redline drawings, engineering documentation and other technical specifications.

As necessary provide input and support for the design, installation, and upgrade of the instrumentation and control systems.
