Position Summary The Salvation Army Henning Family Store provides an enjoyable shopping experience with great deals on a variety of goods. The store's income directly supports the local community by helping fund local Salvation Army programming. The Corps is doing the most good by providing holistic, person-centered services to individuals and families in need. In addition to worship services and pastoral care, services include short and long-term case management; food, clothing, utility, rent, and housing support; and connections to community partners. The Store Associate is responsible for ensuring customers and donors have a positive experience visiting the store. The Associate processes donated goods, stocks merchandise, and assists customers with shopping and checking out. $10.86/hour 917 South Pebble Lake Rd, Fergus Falls, MN 56537 Essential Functions Store Associates will be cross-trained in all essential functions. The associate may perform a variety of essential functions throughout their shift or be assigned to a few specific essential functions. Create a positive, enjoyable shopping and donation experience for customers and donors. Accurately, efficiently, and quickly operate the cash register. Process, sort, clean, hang, organize, and bail merchandise. Stock and maintain merchandise on the floor to increase product visibility and sales. Process donation drop-offs, assist donors with unloading donations, and issue receipts. Perform light cleaning throughout the store. Assist customers with loading purchases as requested. Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent required. Customer services and/or retail experience preferred. Basic math skills required and previous experience handling cash a plus. Must pass background checks. Competencies Flexible interpersonal and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. High level of initiative and self-motivation. Ability to problem-solve, multi-task, and prioritize. Working Conditions Must be able to stand for long periods. Ability to walk, bend, stand, lift, and carry. Must be able to regularly lift 40 pounds and occasionally 60 pounds. Must be able to communicate clearly in English.
