Amazon NCD Tech Infra Program Manager I, Network and Cable Decom (NCD) in Herndon, Virginia

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast-paced technology company and a leader in the world of Cloud Computing. We are currently expanding our Network & Cable Decommissioning (NCD) team and are looking to hire a highly motivated, self-driven Network and Cabling Decommissioning Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (NCD-TIPM) with a robust technical understanding of network and Data Centre infrastructure. The NCD-TIPM will be responsible for the end to end delivery of all network decommission project within their region.

Key job responsibilities

• Manage multiple team goals and program-related metrics simultaneously within a geographical region of responsibility.

• Work closely with partner teams to understand project requirements, define deliverables, deliver on developed roadmaps, and drive on-time delivery.

• Anticipate bottlenecks, manage risks, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.

• Lead initiatives and work closely with Networking, Planning and Operations teams.

• Effectively co-ordinate and deliver multiple tasks congruently.

• Effectively leverage the logical tools and systems that are provided.

• Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove obstacles.

• Manage assigned work and priorities through ticketing system and/or workflows.

• Establish regular communicate cadence for managers on project/program progress and performance issues.

• Provide status updates to stakeholders via ticketing system and analytical reports.

• Scope effort assigned to the regional team, validate work is ready for decommissioning, advise technicians on required change requests to perform work, and coordinate timely on efforts that have been assigned.

• Create or update related training modules / POC to training function.

• Travel within geographical work area is required, up to 25% travel outside traditional work area may be required depending on your primary region.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in project management

• 3+ years In-depth knowledge of copper and fiber optics.

• 3+ years’ experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.

• 3+ years’ experience coordinating work and priorities through ticketing system and workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Must possess proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).

• Ability to succeed and thrive in a fast-moving environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.

• Ability to work autonomously and drive efforts to completion.

• Broad understanding of Data Center infrastructure technologies.

• Familiarity with network cabling failure scenarios.

• Comfortable with medium to large, complex tasks and ambiguous details within work environment.

• SQL / Redshift or other database experience
