Amazon Software Dev Engineer, Cross Domain Security Services and Engineering - BlackMIrror in Herndon, Virginia

Description

Are you a Software Engineer who is passionate about data and automation? Does the idea of working with large amounts of data using the latest and greatest AWS services excite you? Do you want to design and build highly scalable and reliable data services that safeguard Amazon's operations and customer trust? Come join the AWS BlackMirror organization!

Our engineers use AWS technologies to build cloud-native data solutions that process telemetry data from across all AWS, allowing teams to efficiently operate their services across multiple regions. As part of our team, you’ll be challenged to think outside the box and not only meet the needs of our customers today, but also analyze data to predict and create what they’ll need in the future. You’ll have the opportunity to tackle big technical problems and push the boundaries on what’s possible for cloud computing.

You will collaborate closely with software engineers, site reliability engineers, front-end engineers, technical program managers and other roles across AWS to build highly available data services to retrieve, transform and publish telemetry data to help all Amazonians build, deploy and operate their services consistently across all AWS regions according to AWS operational excellence best practices. You will also improve existing services for performance, cost, reliability, recoverability and security.

We highly value data in all aspects of our delivery. We ground our research and analysis in data, leveraging quantitative and anecdotal data to help make decisions and prioritize work that has the most impact for our customers. We take code reviews seriously. We believe thorough and respectful code reviews raise our code quality, grow our technical acumen, and provide opportunities to support and share knowledge with each other.

When you’re ready, you will have on-call responsibilities, typically for one week every two months. No one likes getting paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work hard to ensure that our systems are fault tolerant and resilient. When we do get paged, we work together to resolve the root cause of the issue so that we never get paged for the same issue twice.

By working together on behalf of our customers, we are building the future one innovative product, service, and idea at a time. Are you ready to embrace the challenge? Come build the future with us.
