The VP, Fed Civilian Growth will focus on the pursuit of large/complex opportunities consistent with the market segment focus of the Business Unit and Serco overall. Have a strong background in managed services, solutions and/or business process outsourcing as well as proven success in developing new business within the US Federal Civilian market.
Bring your strong business development background with proven success in developing business with the Federal Government, strong domain expertise as well as an established professional network to support business development targets. You must have the ability to lead and support the pursuit of major bid activities and must be a team player who knows how to create and manage the synergy among business development, operations, capture management, and proposal functions.
In this role you will:
Be responsible for growth of the Business Unit’s new business and re-compete sales pipeline in the non-defense US Federal Government as well as selected state and local governments.
Use your domain expertise as well as an established professional network to support business development targets
Identify, research, evaluate, and qualify new opportunities for inclusion in the Business pipeline
Participate in proposal strategy, development, writing, and review and briefing sessions
Maintain opportunity status and reporting in pipeline management and document management tool
Manage BU’s Business Development Team, BD B&P budgets, and resourcing of business development pursuits
Collaborate with BU and central BD teams on process improvements and efficiencies
Manage and report on BD goals and performance metrics across business leadership and to executive team
Engage in industry events and conferences as part of market and opportunity assessment and capture activities
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance
Working knowledge of Federal procurement lifecycle, experience
Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of experience in business development
Experience in managed services, solutions and/or BPO preferred
Ability to work collaboratively with the leadership team and act as an enabler of key projects and initiatives
Proven experience in developing and successfully executing sales/acquisition strategies for medium and large contracts ($100M - $1B)
Experience delivering the full life cycle of business development activities, including market analysis, accounts planning, account management, partner / teaming strategies, opportunity identification and qualification, overall pipeline management, and the development and execution of win strategies
Proficiency in Govwin, SAM.gov, Microsoft CRM (or similar), SharePoint, and Microsoft Office
Must have excellent communications skills (verbal and written) and highly effective interpersonal skills to carry out daily interactions with technical leaders, business executives, customers, teammates/partners, and subcontractors
Flexibility to respond to rapidly changing business conditions and priorities; must be able to manage to, and meet, tight deadlines across multiple opportunities/bids
