Title: Part-Time Food Service Steward Job Location: Hershey, PA Hourly Pay Rate:* $14.25 or more based on experience* Minimum Age: 16 years of age or older Availability:* Requires availability to work nights, weekends, and holiday shifts * Hershey’s Chocolate World is the most popular brand experience in the world. A Steward/ Replenisher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for dishes, glassware, tableware, cooking utensils, etc., using machine and manual cleaning methods. This role is crucial in ensuring the kitchen and dining areas are clean and orderly. This role is also responsible for the loading in and out of deliveries. The individual in this role is also responsible for ensuring proper rotation of product, including following First In First Out (FIFO) processes. Hershey’s Chocolate World requires a focus on exceptional customer service and expects employees to be: approachable, courteous, knowledgeable about our products, able to clearly communicate with guests and assist them with questions, and provide general information to guests with a high level of professionalism. _ *Summary of Major Duties/ Responsibilities: *_ * Collect and clean used dishes, plates, and utensils from dining and kitchen areas. * Load and unload dishwashing machines, ensuring all items are cleaned thoroughly. * Hand-wash items, such as large pots, delicate china, and wooden cutting boards. * Sanitize kitchen areas, including floors, countertops, and equipment. * Organize and store clean dishes, glasses, and equipment appropriately. * Maintain and keep track of cleaning supplies and place orders when necessary. * Assist Kitchen Staff with basic food preparation tasks and other kitchen duties as needed. * Unload delivery trucks and stock merchandise on shelves. * Ensure products are properly labeled and priced. * Create and maintain eye-catching product displays. * Monitor inventory levels and replenish items as needed. * Verify the accuracy of shipments and report any discrepancies. * Maintain a clean and organized work area. * Assist customers with locating products and answering questions. * Follow all safety and security procedures. _ *Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities: *_ * Ability to ensure all dishes and kitchen areas are thoroughly cleaned. * Capability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks. * Efficiently manage time to handle multiple tasks during busy periods. * Ability to work well with kitchen staff and follow instructions. * Understanding of sanitation and safety regulations. * Proficiency in using inventory management systems. * Basic math skills for counting and verifying inventory. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Knowledge of store layout and product placement strategies. * Must obtain Food Safe Handler certification within 3 months of hire date * Ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods. * Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. * Good communication and customer service skills. _ *Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: *_ * Education: No formal education is required, high school diploma or equivalent is desired * Experience: Previous experience as a Dishwasher or in a similar role is beneficial but not always required. _ *What’s in it For You? *_ * Free meal and drinks for every shift worked * Flexible scheduling * Holiday pay and the opportunity for annual pay raises * 50% discount on all Hershey Kitchen’s and Bakery food items * Employee recognition programs, cook-outs, and many other activities This description covers the most significant duties performed, but the incumbent may be responsible for other minor-related work assignments.
