Job Summary and Qualifications

• Provides nursing care for the comfort and well being of patients. Administers prescribed medications, including IV solutions, and nutrition.

• Changes dressings and provides wound care.

• Documents care delivery, patient condition, reaction and progress.

• Reinforces patient and family teaching/counseling.

What you will do in this role:

• Provide direct, evidence-based care to patients as directed by the physician or RN.

• Provide direct, evidence-based care to patients as directed by the physician or RN.

• Assist with procedures, monitoring, or other functions as directed.

• Perform lab and procedural tests within the LVN/LPN scope of practice, after demonstrating competency.

• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.

• Serve as a resource to department staff, students and volunteers to help deliver quality patient care.

What qualifications you will need:

• Required Education: Accredited LPN Program

• Required License: Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse (LPN / LVN)

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Highlands-Cashiers Hospital (https://missionhealth.org/member-hospitals/highlands-cashiers/) is a community hospital serving Macon, Jackson and the surrounding counties. Located between the towns of Highlands and Cashiers, the hospital offers 24/7 emergency care, acute inpatient care, rehabilitation, as well as long-term care through Eckerd Living Center. Ambulatory services are also available, including therapy services and primary care. Highlands-Cashiers Hospital has more than 24 beds for acute care services and 80+ beds in the Eckerd Living Center.
