Why SENTINEL? The Sentinel Program is an enormous and highly complex Mega-Project modernizing the entire Minuteman III ICBM weapon system deployed over tens of thousands of square miles across five states. Without a doubt, Sentinel is one of the Department of Defense s (DoD s) most important acquisition efforts for the next decade, if not longer. It includes a complete refurbishment of hundreds of aging ICBM facilities to develop and deploy a newly designed, technologically advanced ballistic missile. The effort will also provide an entirely new command and control system as well as vast array of required support equipment specifically engineered to operate and sustain the new weapon system over the decades ahead. The program enjoys broad, bi-partisan support at the national level. It is a long-term project - the weapon system will deploy over a nine-year period beginning in approximately 2026, and remain operational through at least 2075. Sentinel is a career-defining program that will present unique and rewarding opportunities that simply are not available with smaller projects.

Tell me about this job. BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Engineer to plan, analyze, construct, and execute process improvement projects driving efficiency into processes in order to improve quality, reduce costs and increase throughput. The position will prepare and present reports on process compliance and improvement activities to management. Successful candidates will own and create work instructions and procedures including process parameters. Applicants will monitor performance metrics, and author work instructions for new processes while implementing process improvement initiatives enhancing efficiency and effectiveness using lean and six sigma methodologies.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 7 yrs. or 5 yrs. w/MS degree in Quality Assurance, Process Improvement, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience in conducting audits, assessments and metrics.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in using process management and documentation tools.

  • Experience with Process Engineering or process related functions.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience with the ISO improvement frameworks.

  • Experience in project planning.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Understanding of CMMI standards and practices.

  • Certification in CMMI or related process improvement methodologies is highly desirable.

  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certified.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $103590 - $176130

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
