Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Description

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will perform both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of HVAC units, including package units and chiller systems. You will also handle minor repairs to automation or environmental controls as needed. Your role involves installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of facilities, including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, heating, and cooling systems. Conducting preventative maintenance inspections and performing required preventative maintenance duties will also be part of your responsibilities. You will work within defined parameters, with some degree of judgment required in resolving nonstandard problems. Additionally, you will write procedures and checklists, assist and train maintenance staff, and work with engineers to update and maintain SOPs and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of HVAC units, including package units and chiller systems.

  • Conduct minor repairs to automation or environmental controls.

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plumbing, mechanical, electrical, heating, and cooling systems.

  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and perform required preventative maintenance duties.

  • Resolve nonstandard problems using judgment.

  • Write procedures and checklists, and assist and train maintenance staff.

  • Work with engineers to update and maintain SOPs and documentation.

  • Operate, adjust, and repair boilers, heating controls, air distribution, and heating systems.

  • Recondition and/or install new parts of complex mechanical equipment.

  • Operate and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of building and facility equipment, including UPW, mechanical, electrical, heating and cooling systems, fixtures and systems, liquid industrial waste systems, and chemical and gas delivery systems.

Essential Skills

  • Experience as a maintenance technician with experience in HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems.

  • Proficient in troubleshooting mechanical systems and facilities maintenance.

  • Knowledge of plumbing, hydraulics, preventive maintenance, and building maintenance.

  • Ability to conduct preventative maintenance inspections and perform required duties.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Comfortable being on call during weekends for emergencies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical military experience and/or semiconductor experience.

  • Ability to work well from a technical military or semiconductor experience.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Comfortable being on call on weekends in case of emergencies.

Work Environment

You will be working onsite for a large chemical manufacturer in Hillsboro, alongside 2-3 other technicians. The work environment is very nice, relatively new, and very clean. Teamwork is essential, so you should be comfortable working as part of a team.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Hillsboro, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00
