Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic small company Controller to oversee the financial operations of our SaaS/Software company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing finances for technology companies, a strong understanding of subscription-based revenue models, and proficiency with QuickBooks. This role will be pivotal in driving financial efficiency, compliance, and growth.
- Financial Management
Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, and payroll.
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and ensure accurate and timely financial recordkeeping in QuickBooks.
Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Compliance and Controls
Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Coordinate and lead annual audits or financial reviews.
- Revenue Recognition
Manage revenue recognition processes, including ASC 606 compliance for subscription-based services.
Track deferred revenue and subscription lifecycle to ensure proper financial reporting.
- Financial Strategy and Analysis
Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to drive business decisions.
Analyze key financial metrics, SaaS KPIs (e.g., MRR, ARR, churn rate, CAC, LTV), and trends.
Partner with department heads to manage budgets and evaluate operational efficiency.
- Technology and System Integration
Maintain and optimize the use of QuickBooks for financial operations.
Evaluate and implement additional tools to streamline financial workflows (e.g., SaaS billing software, expense management platforms).
Ensure accurate integration between QuickBooks and other SaaS-specific tools.

Requirements • Proficiency in 3M software is necessary.
• Familiarity with various Accounting Software Systems is required.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is a plus.
• Proficiency in CRM is crucial.
• Ability to use Crystal Reports is essential.
• Strong understanding of Accounting Functions is mandatory.
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary.
• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.
• Auditing skills are a must.
• Familiarity with Budget Processes is crucial.
