Inframark, LLC Wastewater Operations Supervisor in Hinesville, Georgia

Job Description

This position is responsible for supervising the continuous operation of the wastewater plants, lift stations, all other components of the wastewater treatment system. It also requires some interaction with the public, client and city officials.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Prepare internal reports, regulatory reports, and client reports as defined by the project manager

  • Intermittently check and verify that the staff is performing duties correctly, including operations, maintenance, safety, lab procedures and QA/QC program

  • Conduct weekly/monthly meetings with department heads pertaining to project performance and goal achievement

  • Help define then approve functions and objectives of the facilities and staff

  • Take effective correction action in case of an emergency

  • Oversee safety program and assure its being aggressively followed

  • Conduct interviews with potential employees

  • Perform employee evaluations

  • Administer discipline to employees that are in violation of company policies and procedures

  • Approve project staff schedules

  • General office and plant administrative responsibilities

  • Assist in budget planning and preparation

  • Assume the role and responsibilities of the project manager in his/her absence

  • Attend safety classes, reinforce and comply with company safety policies

  • Work harmoniously with peers, supervisors, and the public and comply with company policies.

Qualifications

Requires completion of standard high school education or its recognized equivalent. Any combination of education, experience or training which provides the required knowledge and skills. Five years of Wastewater treatment operations experience and maximum certification as a Wastewater Operator preferred. Must have a valid state driver’s license and meet minimum driving standards.

Knowledge of:

  • Principles and methods of biological and chemical sewage analysis

  • General knowledge of engines, pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment

  • General knowledge of Industrial waste and its effects to facility waste stream

  • Knowledge and experience in administering an Industrial Pre-Treatment Program (IPP)

  • Supervising, mentoring, and coaching of employees

  • Wastewater permit specifics and limitations

Skill in:

  • Supervising and training department heads

  • Operating various related process control and laboratory equipment

  • Oral and written communication

  • Evaluating operating parameters and adjusting plant processes

Ability to:

  • Understand and follow oral and written instructions

  • Able to work in constricted places

  • Perform mathematical computations

  • Work emergency duty during non-scheduled work hours

  • Work overtime, work any day, including all State and Federal recognized holidays

  • Distinguish between different shades of color

Working conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, bright and/or dim light, dust or pollen, intense noise levels, vibration, fumes or noxious odors. All required safety standards shall be adhered to in order to mitigate risk from moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, heights, blood-borne pathogens, traffic, animals and wildlife, toxic or caustic chemicals, and other identified hazards.

Physical requirements

This position requires frequent standing, kneeling, bending and climbing. The employee must be able to use hands to operate and manipulate tools and equipment. This position requires very heavy physical exertion including the ability to lift over 50 pounds and exert over 100 pounds of force on a regular basis.

The employee must be willing to work non-standard and overtime hours as required.

The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and depth perception.
