Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develops maintenance schedules and implements procedures for the efficient maintenance of the rail infrastructure for assigned division by maintaining both electrified and non-electrified railroad right of way.

• Oversees capital construction groups, conducts Quality Control inspections, and assists in scheduling track time to complete work.

• Programs future right of way work and sets up appropriate budgets.

• Follows up on required FRA reports and inspections ensuring completion and verifying for accuracy.

• Ensures compliance with Labor contracts and negotiates grievances.

• Trains field supervisors, instilling quality control, safety, and efficiency.

• Oversees electronic technicians responsible for the maintenance of all movable bridge, sand tower, switch heater and electric traction substation control systems.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Baccalaureate degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent from a US Department of Education accredited college or institution; and seven (7) years of progressive managerial or supervisory experience in railroad engineering.

• One year of closely related experience can be substituted for each year of education required.
