Job Title: Lead Front Desk/Room Reservation Clerk

Reports To: Front Desk Supervisor/ Front Desk Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Starting Rate: $15.78/hour

Status Full-Time

JOB SUMMARY : The Lead Front Desk/Room Reservation Clerk is responsible for the timely execution of all Guest Reservations, Check-Ins/Out and Issues they might have. Responsible for working directly with the Front Desk Manager in creating a great work environment with superior guest service for the hotel. Also understanding structures and systems to assist in achieving our goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following :

  • Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with the guests and fellow associates

  • Must be professional, neat and organized at all times.

  • Responsible for consistently improving the guest service experience at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort.

  • Must be responsible for the professional and concise transfer of information from our guests or potential guests to the Front Desk Manager.

  • Responsible for taking care of all of our guest needs and fulfilling all special request of our guest.

  • Responsible for the thorough knowledge of the Agilysys System, Microsoft Word; Excel and Powerpoint and other necessary programs.

  • Must be fiscally responsible.

  • Maintain relationships with key clients such as Transient Guests and Bus Group Sales Team.

  • Functions as a liaison with community organizations, committees in the absence of the Front Desk Supervisor or Manager.

  • Interaction with guests and associates is expected in our efforts to promote exceptional satisfaction with their hotel experience.

  • A proactive attitude and a desire to learn are a must and hands-on work will be an important part of this position.

  • Must be team oriented and possess strong interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to respond calmly and handle many customer demands in a fast paced environment.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Front Desk Manager

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as necessary.

  • Superior customer and supervisor service skills required.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor required.

  • Must possess excellent time management skills and must be self-motivated and results oriented.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Lead Front Desk/Room Reservation Clerk will fill in as needed by the Hotel Operations. When the Front Desk Supervisor or Manager is not here, you will fill in that required spot.

    Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Minimum High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory role required.

  • Previous hotel operation experience is considered to be an asset.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand at a fixed work station for long periods of time. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT : The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. The position exists in a casino work environment where there is occasional exposure of the associate to noise and cigarette smoke from the casino floor.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Must obtain and maintain a St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming work permit which requires a background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. In case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino or Mohawk Bingo Palace. Employment will not begin until process is complete.
