JOB SUMMARYAs a Mechanic at Ohserase Manufacturing, you are essential to the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment. This role involves leading a maintenance team focused on routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing equipment, and implementing preventive maintenance programs. These actions are crucial to minimizing downtime and maintaining high product quality. You will also manage making area projects and ensure all operations comply with established procedures and regulatory standards, including OSHA, FDA, & EPA.

WORK ENVIRONMENTThe role is hands-on in an industrial setting and requires a minimum of 40 hours per week. You may be exposed to various working environments, including outdoor conditions. Extended hours may be necessary when project deadlines approach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintenance & Repair:Oversee and implement preventive and reparative maintenance for machinery, ensuring high efficiency and minimal downtime.

• Team Leadership:Supervise and train junior mechanics, promoting a safe and efficient work environment.

• Project Management:Handle making area projects from development to execution, focusing on plant efficiency and quality improvement.

• Compliance & Safety:Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety standards and legal regulations.

• Continuous Improvement:Identify and implement improvements in processes and equipment to enhance overall efficiency and quality.

  QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in mechanical or electrical maintenance preferred.

• 10+ years related experience in a technical role, preferably with tobacco industry machinery.

• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.

• Effective leadership and communication skills.

• Proficiency in safety regulations and manufacturing best practices.

• Physical ability to handle job responsibilities, including lifting up to 75lbs.

• Computer literacy and familiarity with production operating systems.
