Xylem Application Engineer Manager in Holland, Michigan

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Applications Engineering Manager to lead our manufacturing team within the water industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manufacturing processes and water systems, combined with leadership skills to manage a team of engineers. This role involves overseeing technical support, process improvement, and the development and implementation of water-related applications, working closely with various departments to drive product and process excellence.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Works primarily with the direct sales team, reviews customer requirements on large complex projects, determines appropriate process solutions by performing calculations using standard tools.

• Selects appropriate equipment / materials to meet customer needs and to develop project costing.

• Works with Drafters, creates drawings as required for the application.

• Generates customer proposals utilizing standard tools, seeks and gains appropriate approval levels.

• Effectively communicates solution to internal and external customers.

• Determines and understands risk associated with work product. Provides mentoring/training to other engineers on business processes and technical applications.

• Works to develop business processes and standard tools as a recognized expert.

Formal Education:

• Requires BS/BA degree in Engineering; Master degree preferred

• 8+ yrs of experience

Knowledge and Experience:

• Advanced knowledge of business tools, processes and procedures.

• Technical expert in understanding water treatment processes to achieve customer desired outcome.

• Advanced competency in all standard equipment platforms and their employment.

• Ability to source and apply advanced 3rd party components in new applications.

• Able to lead others in the execution of complex tasks and projects.

• Effectively collaborates with other disciplines in a team environment.

• Solid understanding of the sales process and how organizational role influences the outcome.

• Solid understanding of financial principals related to proposals, costing, business outcome and risk mitigation.

• Solid understanding of contractual terms and conditions. Advanced ability to develop execution strategy and guide others while mitigating business risk.

• Possesses excellent communications skills and is able to effectively present advanced technical information in a customer setting.

• Conducts training and seeks to motivate and develop the organization to achieve greater results.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS - 20%

Salary range:

$91,500.00 - $164,500.00
