Location: Holland, MI

Summary

As a Controls Engineer I, you will support the design, installation, and maintenance of vendor specific PLC systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Program the automation and controls systems of various manufacturers (Italy, Japan, Korea)

  • Create, monitor, and modify logic for program design, simulation and testing, start-up, and troubleshooting

  • Manipulate these items using Mitsubishi:

  • Q Series PLC

  • Networking with CC-Link & SSCNET III

  • Motion control with servo motor & robot

  • Integrate and implement various systems such as: Bar Code & RFID Reading, Robot, Ultrasonic Welding, Vision, Weigh Scale, Gas Sampling, etc.

  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:

  • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain

  • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent, relevant experience

Experience:

  • 1 to 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or automotive engineering environment through an internship, co-op, entry level job role, or similar

  • Exposure to controls and electrical systems design, automation, mechanical assemblies, and manufacturing assembly equipment from an internship, co-op, entry level job role, or similar

  • Exposure or education in Battery systems or processes is preferred but not required

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Project and process management skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Technically proficient and motivated to continuously improve

  • Working knowledge of electrical systems and computer programming

  • On-call status is required
