The Neil Jones Food Co Sanitation Supervisor in Hollister, California

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit.Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nations discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for aSanitation Supervisortooversee all sanitation and janitorial related duties and other various general labor tasks for the facility. Ensures conformance to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Communicates technical points of course content and demonstrates the capability to answer unexpected questions about sanitation related materials. Supports the review, understanding and compliance of all programs, policies and procedures contained in the Food Safety and Quality Management System. This leader will be responsible forserving as the subject matter expert on sanitation and tools used by the sanitation teamat our San Benito Foods plant in Hollister, CA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the facilitys sanitation and janitorial programs; provides guidance and direction to personnel to ensure all aspects of processes are in compliance.
  • Schedules staff to timely satisfy business requirements; adjusts work procedures and scheduling to meet production schedules.
  • Supports management of QA, HR, Production, and Maintenance departments by communicating on current and future production schedules, current and future audit schedules, current and future planned plant start-ups and test runs, and current and future scheduling of employees of the sanitation department to accommodate plant needs.
  • Organizes and updates as needed: Standard Sanitizing Operating Procedures, Master Sanitation Program, and all other sanitation documentation for the NWP Plant as needed.
  • Supports the QA Manager with presentation material or other data for vendors, customers, auditors, management, and other plant employees.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in general studies, business, or food industry production operations; bachelors degree preferred; or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the position.
  • 3 years experience in sanitation management programs for food processing operations.
  • 1 years experience supervision in manufacturing environment; union environment preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, credit screen, and work extended schedule, weekends, and any assigned shift during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.

Compensation:

The salary range is $68,440 - $85,550, based on experience and qualifications.
