Seasonal/Temporary work from 2/15/2025 - 11/15/2025
Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by the supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. Workers will drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil: plant and cultivate grain such as rice, soybeans, corn, milo, and wheat. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. Perform a variety of duties such as driving grain trucks to transport crops to elevator or storage area, located on farm. Must be able to lift 75-100 lbs. Workers will also haul rice, corn and soybeans. Workers will do pre-harvest grain bin maintenance. Duties may be to inspect inside of bin. Workers will check for birds nests, cracked belts, rough sounds in the motor, and any divots in the track. Workers must be familiar with grain bins. Inspect outside of bins, making sure the door is sealing properly with no visible gaps. Inspect ladders and steps for loose bolts, broken ladder rungs, and clear them of all obstructions. Workers will also inspect fan and heater. Workers will be responsible for doing minor repairs on machinery, operating of grain bin facilities and driving semis delivering grain to the local mills and grain terminals on the farm No CDL required. Workers may transport other workers. Workers will operate and use the following farming equipment and tools: John Deere tractors, shovel, scoop, 4 wheelers, big trucks, track line, power units, side by side, pickup trucks, welder, shop tools, poly pipe.\ Workers may adjust, make minor repairs to farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions.\ Attach farm implements or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools.\ Guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines, and to discard diseased or rotten products.\ Irrigate soil, using portable pipes or ditch systems, and maintain ditches or pipes and pumps.\ Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks.\ Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment.\ Detailed Work Activities\ Irrigate soil, using portable pipes or ditch systems, and maintain ditches or pipes and pumps.\ Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, hand trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers.\ Load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks.\ Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders, or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery.\ Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions.\ Operate equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment.\ Operate towed machines such as seed drills or manure spreaders to plant, fertilize, dust, and spray crops.\ Position boxes or attach bags at discharge ends of machinery to catch products, removing and closing full containers.\ Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers.\ Walk beside or ride on planting machines while inserting plants in planter mechanisms at specified intervals.\ Weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying information.
