What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be part of the Amgen’s new Drug Substance facility in Holly Spring, North Carolina-based Manufacturing Finance team. You will be responsible for setting up, planning and analyzing financial results for the manufacturing activities led by North Carolina-based Operations leaders. As part of planning financial results for this organization, this role also lead all aspects of the annual standard cost creation process for the goods manufactured by the Operations areas that they supports.

As a Finance Senior Manager you will:

  • Will report directly to the Vice President, Operations Finance.

  • Be the Finance counterpart for Vice President, Manufacturing Amgen North Carolina to formulate, generate and deliver financial plans for the facility and drive continuous improvements for the facility.

  • Work with individuals across Operations and Operations Finance to plan and deliver financial results for the new North Carolina Drug Substance facility.

  • Plan and manage capital expenditures during the construction phase of the facility.

  • Complete the annual budget process, deliver quarterly forecasts, and analyze actual financial results relative to planned results on a monthly basis.

  • Coordinate the annual standard cost development process for the areas of Operations supported by your team.

  • Develop reasons to support various investments such as capital equipment or transferring manufacturing from one plant to another (i.e. technology transfers).

  • Provide support to Director, Manufacturing Finance and Vice President, Operations Finance to consolidate data across all Amgen manufacturing sites in order to prepare reports for the Operations Leadership Team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of Finance experience: OR

  • Master's degree and 6 years of Finance experience; OR

  • Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Finance experience; OR

  • Associate's degree and 10 years of Finance experience ; OR

  • High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Finance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business and/or MBA degree

  • Certified public accountant or past experience working in accounting (with preference for experience in cost accounting and/or manufacturing finance)

  • Experience supporting senior leaders of an organization as an FP&A business partner or in some other advisory capacity

  • Managerial experience to include hiring and staff performance management

  • Experience in preparing executive communication to include written and oral presentations

  • Problem solving and analytical skills with ability to identify and tackle vaguely defined problems

  • Ability to influence at all levels with a customer service mentality

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
