The Work You Will Do:
This position performs administrative work in a workforce career center. As an administrative support position requiring independent work assisting the Center Manager, supervisors, and partners in the One-Stop Center with a variety of administrative matters.

You will assist in helping the Center provide services to Broward County residents to obtain wages to be self-sufficient and sustainable through training and employment. The Administrative Assistant II is a member of the Florida Commerce team with CareerSource Broward.

Pay: $34,500.00 anually
Your Specific Responsibilities:
Work on projects as assigned to prepare reports for use by the supervisors and partners in evaluating operations and for related decision-making.
Gather data and prepare drafts of reports or responses for the supervisor's approval.
Processes routine correspondence and prepares replies.
Use a computer with various software applications to prepare reports and correspondence.
Receive electronic mail messages and transmit to appropriate associates for action.
Screen incoming mail to determine assignments to appropriate associates and partners.
Perform routine fiscal, personnel, and other major office functions including the establishment and maintenance of files and coordination of maintenance/service agreements for office support equipment such as copiers, facsimile machines, and telephone systems.
May Function as a telephone system administrator.
Coordinate travel conducted by staff to ensure compliance with established procedures and prepare expense reimbursement vouchers.
Check monthly time sheets of staff for accuracy and enter time into the state system to meet all deadlines.
Function as the designated Purchasing Card Approver for staff-issued agency purchasing cards.
Responsible for accessing the automated FLAIR Purchasing Card System to review and validate purchasing card expenditures.
Performs special work assignments that require independent work as directed by the center manager.
Performs other related duties that are required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
An Ability to promote and market the Career Center.
Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in individual and group settings, both verbally and in writing.
Working knowledge/experience using Microsoft including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
Ability to deal with the public in a tactful, courteous, and effective manner.
Ability to listen effectively.
Ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments.
Ability to prepare reports to include recording, evaluating, and analyzing data.
Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
Minimum:
Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Required to travel locally and must furnish own transportation
Preferred
A degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Human Services, Education, or a related field
Professional experience
Possess the ability to utilize databases and the Internet to conduct research and obtain data.
